Definition
Reiki is best defined as “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It is Japanese word that has been brought together by the two following characters: “REI” and “KI” meaning Universal Life Energy. It is a form of hands on healing medicine, through which energy is transferred through palms of practitioner to patient. This form of healing has been around since the 1800s, targeting the natural energy fields around the body.
Benefits
Intended to promote physical and emotional healing from chronic pain, depression, loss, and anxiety. Reiki can increase your awareness, creativity, while helping to improve sleep and relaxation. Its purpose is to help release stressful accumulations, allowing your body to return to a state of balance.
Reiki helps to heal; healing happens when your mind and body is balanced and at peace.
Treatment
Reiki is a powerful energy and can be done with the person present or through a distant healing. Distant healing is just as powerful as Reiki healing from someone on a treatment table.
Depending on your condition, it may be recommended for multiple or regular treatments, however it is not required.
Available sessions include: 30 and 60 minutes.

FAQs
How is distance Reiki administered?
Healing energy is transmitted at a physical distance by a Reiki Level 2 practitioners, like myself. You do not need to create a special environment for the animal(s), or tend to them in any special way, pre, during or post session. Simply go about your day and notice what you notice.
What can I expect from a Reiki healing session?
The experience of Reiki is subjective, changeable, and sometimes very subtle. You may find the experience very calming, perhaps falling into a sleep-like, meditative state. Some experience of the Reiki is deep or profound, while others report an uneventful encounter, feeling a sense of betterment after treatment. Commonly, is an instant release of stress and relaxation.
As reiki is cumulative, most patients have progressively deeper experiences as they continue. Besides the immediate experience of the Reiki, you may notice other changes that continue to unfold as the day goes on: perhaps better digestion, a sense of being centred, or sleeping deeply that night.
What does a session consist of?
Every session, regardless of length will undergo a brief intake process. This consists of explaining the process if needed and reviewing any specific needs or changes to your health that may impact treatment. If in person, the complete Reiki session will be performed with you lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair. Treatment offered through light, non-invasive touch. You should not feel any pressure. If virtual, the setting is completely up to you; whatever makes you comfortable.
How do I prepare for a Reiki treatment?
Make time to rest prior to you session and ensure you are wearing comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. If you have music that you particularly enjoy and which is relaxing, bring it to your session and the practitioner to play it. You can also request silence if you prefer. Finally, share any specific needs or preferences you have prior to the session (ie. if you have trouble breathing lying down).
What do I do, during a session?
Allow your body to receive the treatment and let the Reiki relax you. Your state and mindset will evolve naturally as the session proceeds. Feel welcome to let your thoughts go, focus on breath work or observe the natural sensations the therapy brings to you.
Is Reiki harmful to animals?
Reiki healing does not involve the administration of any drug, it is entirely non invasive. Animals and humans love Reiki!
How many sessions should I receive?
Depending on your condition, it may be recommended for multiple or regular treatments, however it is not required. If you have a chronic condition, you won’t be cured with one Reiki session. What Reiki does is heal, which is not the same as a cure. Healing happens when your mind and body is balanced and at peace. With continued sessions, you will likely notice progressive changes and more meaningful experiences.
Is Reiki a religion?
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not.
What happens after a Reiki treatment?
The completion of your treatment, I will be sending a follow-up email to share any insights about your session as well as recommend integrations to do after your treatment. Any messages that came through during the healing, will be relayed. It is important to note that Reiki is not deemed animal communication.
